How It Works

Unlike other one-size-fits-all training programs, the All Hands Method employs a process of continuous improvement and tailoring based on feedback and data.

About All Hands

There are few things more identifying than a person’s hands. Every line, scrape or callus tells the story of one’s life. “Hands-on” experience requires active, personal participation. “All-hands” meetings call every team member together for a common purpose. And “all hands on deck” is a plea for everyone to work together to meet a critical goal.

All Hands was founded on this principle: that we can harness the power of each individual, personal experience for the common good.

At All Hands, we simply ask every participant to join the discussion “openhanded,” because there is no room for new stories if the old ones are held tightly in your grip.

Diversity and inclusion are often lauded as worthwhile goals, but they can be a challenge to actually attain. The All Hands Method helps corporate, academic, governmental and nonprofit leaders advance their organization’s missions through our unique approach to diversity, equity and inclusion.

A Unique Approach

Jargon-free zone. Unlike traditional Diversity + Inclusion models, the All Hands Method challenges assumptions and uncovers the intent behind the jargon.

Honors all experiences. All Hands training is based on the belief that if we take the time to listen to and honor each other’s experiences - no matter where each person is in their learning journey - we can all move forward together.

Inspires meaningful change. A lot of training in this space over-simplifies the subject matter and underestimates the audience. Our coursework inspires participants to unlearn their stories and consider different perspectives, thus creating meaningful change to organizational culture.

Actionable steps. We focus more on what TO do, and less on what NOT to do. At the completion of each session, attendees will take away actionable, pragmatic steps for respecting each team member’s experiences and creating a truly collaborative environment.

Outcome focused. We go beyond compliance and traditional measurement. Our training is focused on outcomes, not outputs. This is not about diversity numbers, inclusion assessments or equity measurement. What good are statistics if you haven’t created true collaboration in which everyone feels welcome.

Pragmatic approach. While Diversity + Inclusion training may seem daunting, in our experience, this is a skillset that should be addressed like any other. With the right guidance, you can learn it, practice it, apply it, and improve it.

Expert led. All training is designed and supervised by our founder, Denise Hamilton, who brings a bottom-line pragmatism to each session. Denise has been a trusted advisor to both Fortune 500s and kitchen table star-ups. With her deep corporate background, she recognizes that a diverse and equitable workplace is not separate from business success; it feeds business success.

Challenging without alienating. Inclusion training should be direct without alienating. At All Hands, everyone is free to engage in their own unique Diversity + Inclusion journey at their own pace.

Fun and engaging. Diversity + Inclusion training is an opportunity to upskill and better connect with colleagues. Not a chore. Denise is optimistic, patient, and engaging, and her top priority is to create a pleasant learning experience in which everyone grows.
